I Care a Lot     HD1080p 50MB
Darkly comedic thriller about a crooked legal guardian (Rosamund Pike) who drains the savings of her elderly wards. Having made a mint selling off the assets of the dozens of retirees trapped in her permanent care, she and her partner (Eiza González) stumble upon a veritable golden goose in the form of Jennifer Peterson (Dianne Wiest), a mark with no apparent family or debt, only a tidy fortune to be mined. But, while applying their scam, the two soon discover that Ms. Peterson is not who they thought she was, and that their actions have disturbed the designs of a crime lord (Peter Dinklage). Written and directed by J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed, The 5th Wave).
Pike in top form. I can't wait to see this. Will start streaming on Netflix February 19th. Trailer without German subs.

Locked Down     HD1080p 33MB
Comedic crime thriller filmed in London during the COVID-19 pandemic. Just as they decide to separate, Linda (Anne Hathaway) and Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) find life has other plans when they are stuck at home in a mandatory lockdown. Co-habitation is proving to be a challenge, but fueled by poetry and copious amounts of wine, it will bring them closer together in the most surprising way. They will attempt a high-risk, high-stakes jewelry heist at a department store. Ben Kingsley, Stephen Merchant, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon, Mindy Kaling and Lucy Boynton are also part of the cast. Directed by Doug Liman (Jumper, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow), and written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke, Dirty Pretty Things).
Reviews are ... very mixed. Now streaming on HBO MAX.

One Night in Miami     HD1080p 26MB
Full trailer for this drama based on a play inspired by true events that imagines a night in February 1964, when real-life friends Cassius Clay (Eli Goree), Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.), and Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir) gather to celebrate Clay’s win over Sonny Liston, which made him the heavyweight champion of the world. Triumphant and playful, Clay is looking to party, but both he and football star Brown know that’s only a temporary escape from the civil rights abuses that limit the lives of even celebrated Black Americans. Feature film directing debut of Regina King.
Was very well received at festivals. Started streaming on Amazon Prime January 15th.

Outside the Wire     HD720p 34MB
Action movie in which, when disgraced drone pilot, Lt. Harp (Damson Idris) is sent into a deadly militarized zone after disobeying orders, he finds himself working for Capt. Leo (Anthony Mackie), an android officer tasked with locating a doomsday device before insurgents do. Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly and Pilou Asbæk are also part of the cast. Directed by Mikael Håfström (1408, Derailed, Shanghai).
Reviews are ... very mixed. Started streaming on Netflix January 15th.

MLK/FBI     HD1080p 76MB
Based on newly declassified files, this documentary explores the US government’s relentless campaign of surveillance and harassment against Martin Luther King, Jr. Today, when King is celebrated across political spectrums as a moral hero, it’s jolting to confront the years when US agents targeted him as a villain.
Will be available on demand January 15th, Martin Luther King Jr.'s 92nd birthday.
