Coraline, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Mary and Max, Sugar, Great Buck Howard

Coraline     .mov 20MB   .flv 8MB    Gaiman 5MB
Very different, much darker trailer for the good looking animated movie based on Neil Gaiman's book. It's the story of a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. Voices are also provided by Ian McShane, Teri Hatcher, Keith David, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French. Directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas).
Quicktime file provides a better picture but unfortunately it doesn't run entirely smoothly. Also, a somewhat scary introduction about the fear of buttons by Neil Gaiman.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince     10 MB
The much different, recently broadcast Japanese trailer for the sixth part of the series. Technical quality isn't particularly good, but if you 'right-click, save-as' on the above link it should, despite its odd looks, transform itself into a downloadable quicktime file. If not, rename it to a file with a .mp4 ending.

Mary and Max     16 MB    4 Clips
Edit: Better quicktime version: 22 MB.
Trailer and four short clips for this pretty funny looking claymation movie from Australia aimed at grown-ups that tells the tale of friendship between two unlikely pen pals that grows over the course of twenty years: Mary (adult voice by Toni Collette), a lonely, eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York. The story is narrated by Barry 'Dame Edna' Humphries, Eric Bana also lends his voice. Movie's written and directed by Adam Elliot who in 2004 won an Oscar for his animated short film Harvie Krumpet in 2004.
Movie opened this year's Sundance festival where the story got some mixed reviews but everybody liked the animation.

Sugar     HD480p 41MB   HD720p 76MB
Social sports drama that tells the story of a Dominican pitcher who's struggling to make it to the big leagues and pull himself and his family out of poverty. He finally gets his break when he advances to the United States' minor league system. He travels from his tight knit community in the Dominican Republic to a small town in Iowa, where he and a couple of other Latin American team-mates are the only Spanish-speaking people in the vicinity. As he struggles with the new language and culture, he is faced with an isolation he never before experienced.
Picture is the follow-up work by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck whose previous movie Half Nelson was widely praised. This one got a lot of favourable reviews after screening in Sundance last year though some interest in baseball is certainly helpful. It's nominated for Best Screenplay at this year's Independent Spirit Awards.

The Great Buck Howard     HD480p 50MB   HD720p 126MB
Full trailer for this comedy about a recent law school dropout (Colin Hanks) who answers an ad for a "Road Manager and Personal Assistant for Celebrity Performer", thinking it will break him into the entertainment industry. In actual fact, he has signed on to work for Buck Howard (John Malkovich), a has-been magician trying to revitalize his waning career. With the help of a fiery publicist (Emily Blunt), Troy and Buck embark on a cross-country tour in hopes of staging the comeback of a lifetime. Ricky Jay, Griffin Dunne and Steve Zahn round up the cast. Tom Hanks has a cameo, he also produced.
