State of Play, 9, Monsters vs. Aliens, Idiots and Angels, Night at the Museum, Doubt

State of Play     HD480p 48MB   HD720p 120MB
The big screen adaptation of the six-hour BBC mini-series that's a gripping conspiracy thriller about a team of investigative reporters (Russell Crowe, Rachel McAdams) who work alongside a police detective (Harry Lennix) to try to solve the murder of a congressman's (Ben Affleck) mistress. Robin Wright Penn, Jason Bateman, Jeff Daniels, Helen Mirren and Viola Davis round up the cast. Directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void).
If you've already seen the mini-series it's probably difficult to get too excited but if you haven't the story should make for an excellent movie, provided not too much gets lost due to the much shorter running time. Of course, you can also check out the excellent mini-series. It amuses me that Helen Mirren plays Bill Nighy's role.

9     HD480p 28MB   HD720p 89MB    Short 25MB
First trailer for this extremely interesting looking animated movie. When 9 (Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, John C. Reilly and Crispin Glover will also lend their voices.
The movie is based on a ten minute short by the director that was nominated for Best Animated Short Film in 2006 and that you can find online here or download a version above. Though keep in mind that there's a risk it will spoil the movie for you.

Monsters vs. Aliens     .wmv 51MB
Edit: Hi-def quicktime versions: 480p 59MB   720p 98MB.
Another funny trailer for the next movie from DreamWorks Animation. When a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years. Voice cast includes Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert, Kiefer Sutherland and Paul Rudd.
Bonus points for briefly featuring a song from the Scorpions. *reminisces*

Idiots and Angels     16 MB
Trailer from France for this animated movie by Bill Plympton. While I'm not too familiar with his work, I very well recognise his distinctive style from back in the days when MTV showed music videos as well as lots of fascinating, short animated clips. It's about a selfish, abusive, morally bankrupt man who hangs out as his local bar, berating the other patrons. One day, Angel mysteriously wakes up with a pair of wings on his back. The wings make him do good deeds, contrary to his nature. He desperately tries to rid himself of the good wings, but eventually finds himself fighting those who view the wings as their ticket to fame and fortune.
If you'd like to see more, there's a different, longer trailer and three clips at the official website.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian     HD480p 50MB   HD720p 122MB
Hi-def quicktime version of the recently posted first trailer for the sequel that will take place in the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian in Washington again starring Ben Stiller.

Doubt     HD480p 86MB   HD720p 268MB
Six minute clip from the drama set in 1964 that shows an intense confrontation between the Bronx Catholic school principal (Meryl Streep) and the priest (Philip Seymour Hoffman) she accuses of abusing a black student.
