First teaser for the romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia prior to World War II written and directed by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom). It centres on an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a ranch the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver (Hugh Jackman) to drive 2000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. David Wenham and Bryan Brown are also part of the cast.
If there had been any doubts that this will be truly epic the teaser sure puts those doubts to rest. There's also been a third podcast about the production design of the movie.
Traitor HD480p 43MB HD720p 100MB
Espionage thriller that centres on a CIA operative working undercover (Don Cheadle) with a terrorist group who becomes a terrorist suspect after it becomes unclear where his loyalties lie. Guy Pearce plays an agent who investigates terrorist activities. Jeff Daniels, Neal McDonough, Archie Panjabi and Said Taghmaoui round up the cast. Interestingly, the story is based on an original idea by Steve Martin before the script was developed by the director Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
Looks good and since I always like cat-and-mouse thrillers I will certainly keep an eye on this one.
Tropic Thunder HD480p 43MB HD720p 105MB
Redband trailer for the Ben Stiller directed comedy about five actors who go on location and find themselves relying on their boot camp experiences when they get stuck in a real war-like situation. Jack Black plays an overweight gross-out comedian, who's forced to kick his drug addiction while filming on location in the jungle. Robert Downey Jr. plays the greatest actor of his generation and a four-time Oscar winner. Jay Baruchel plays an unknown actor on the set and Ben Stiller an action guy. And then there's also Steve Coogan and Nick Nolte.
"Redband" in this case means some gory scenes and heavy swearing. Hot damn, still looks funny. Hard to believe, but apparently Tom Cruise will make a hilarious guest appearance but of course they don't show him in the trailer.
Stuck 10 MB
Very dark horror comedy about a compassionate young retirement-home caregiver Brandi (Mena Suvari) in-line for a promotion and Tom (Stephen Rea), a victim of the downsized economy, out of work and newly homeless. Their worlds collide when Brandi, driving home from a club after too many drinks and pills, accidentally hits Tom, the impact smashing his body head-first through her car's windshield. If discovered, this "accident" will extinguish her bright future, so instead of saving him, her plan is to let him pass and dispose of the body later. Faced with this reality, Tom knows he must escape if he wants to survive.
It's another redband trailer and from what I've read the movie is quite graphic. But it has some low-budget charm and the premise is just too funny.
Wanted Feat 26 MB
Five minute featurette that provides some interesting background about the graphic novel the movie is based of and its author Mark Millar. It also has some new footage. And if it wasn't already clear, the movie will be quite violent.
After his estranged father gets murdered, a cube-dwelling, disengaged slacker (James McAvoy) gets recruited into a secret society of assassins. He gets trained by a woman (Angelina Jolie) who helps him to unlock his dormant powers.
