Crime thriller in which Denzel Washington plays a drug lord who through ingenuity and a strict business ethic comes to rule the inner-city drug trade. His opponent is played by Russell Crowe, an outcast cop close enough to the streets to feel a shift of control in the drug underworld.
Supporting cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Josh Brolin, Armand Assante, Carla Gugino and RZA. Directed by Sir Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator). I like confrontations like that. I wonder though who cares about whether this is "based on a true story" or not.

Sci-fi horror thriller in which after a mysterious crash of a space shuttle something alien is found within the wreckage. Those who come in contact with it are changing in ominous and inexplicable ways. Soon a psychiatrist (Nicole Kidman) and her colleague (Daniel Craig) learn the shocking truth about the growing extraterrestrial epidemic: it attacks its victims while they sleep, leaving them physically unchanged but strangely unfeeling and inhuman. Jeremy Northam is also part of the cast.
Another day, another Hollywood remake of a classic, this time it's a version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Veronica Cartwright should know, she also was in the Philip Kaufman version which had Donald Sutherland in the leading role. There have been consistent rumours that studio executives weren't satisfied with the footage from director Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall, The Experiment) and ordered extensive re-shoots from the Wachowski Brothers. True or not, if you aren't already familiar with Hirschbiegel's previous movies I can strongly recommend both movies that I mentioned in brackets.

First official trailer for this action thriller about a man named Mr. Smith (Clive Owen) who delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen. Paul Giamatti is allowed to play a bad-ass and Monica Bellucci once again plays the femme fatale. Movie title still seems very well chosen. Some bad CGI notwithstanding, this looks like the right movie after a hard day at the office.
The Ten Regular 66MB Unrated 13MB
A second trailer for this comedy that is comprised of ten blasphemous and hysterical stories inspired by the Biblical Commandments, each told in a different style, but with characters and themes that overlap. Trailer is available in two versions, 'normal' one and an unrated one.
Movie was shown in Sundance and judging from the available reviews it probably won't be liked by everyone but the extensive cast makes is sure worth a look: Winona Ryder, Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba, Liev Schreiber, Famke Janssen, Oliver Platt, Ron Silver, Adam Brody and Gretchen Mol.

Documentary about Danny Trejo, the guy who usually plays the bad guy in about a dozen movies a year. His most recent memorable appearance was as "Machete" in one of the (formerly) fake trailers of Grindhouse. I say 'formerly' because it seems there will now be a direct-to-video film directed by Robert Rodriguez with the same name. Apparently Trejo has been a bad guy in real life himself since the doc is about his troubled childhood which included drug addiction, armed robbery and extensive prison time. The doc is now already out on DVD in the US but I thought it is still worth a look.
