07:57 am - Pirates of the Caribbean 2, One Last Thing, Down in the Valley, Wah-Wah, House of Sand, 12 and Holdi
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest     42 MB      Rapid
Here is it, the new trailer for the sequel.
Edit: Uploaded via Rapidshare to allow much faster download. Either way, it's well worth the wait!
The complete cast of the first movie returns (Depp, Bloom, Knightley, Rush, Davenport, Pryce), expected additions are Bill Nighy, Stellan SkarsgÄrd and Naomie Harris. Captain Jack awaits another rip roaring sea adventure because his life is in danger with supernatural warriors, lead by the legendary Davey Jones (Nighy). Enjoy!

Roundup of higher quality versions of previously posted trailers, partially in high-definition.

One Last Thing...     HQ 19MB   HD480p 28MB   HD720p 92MB    Clip1   Clip2
Comedy/Drama about a 16 year-old who has terminal cancer. When the charitable organization "United Wish Givers" grants him a last wish, he initially chooses to go fishing with his football hero. In a moment of inspiration during the locally televised news conference, he changes his mind and reveals that his actual final wish is to spend a weekend with the supermodel Nikki Sinclair, whose poster hangs proudly above his bed. Michael Angarano plays the boy, Cynthia Nixon his mother and Ethan Hawke his dad. Additionally, two clips. Already in limited release in the US.

Down in the Valley     HQ 18MB   HD480p 39MB   HD720p 91MB
Drama set in the present-day San Fernando Valley. It revolves around a delusional man (Edward Norton) who believes he's a cowboy and the relationship that he starts with a rebellious young woman (Evan Rachel Wood). Supporting cast includes David Morse, Bruce Dern and Rory Culkin. Limited release in the US starting mid-May.

Wah-Wah     20 MB
Drama/comedy set at the end of the 60's as Swaziland is about to receive Independence from Great Britain, the film follows the young Richard E. Grant at 12 through his parents traumatic separation, till he's 14 (Nicholas Hoult from About a Boy). It is based on true events from Richard E. Grant's childhood who has also written and directed this movie. Cast also includes Gabriel Byrne, Emily Watson, Julie Walters, and Miranda Richardson. Reviews are thankfully better than the voice-over of the trailer. Limited release in the US starting mid-May.

House of Sand - Casa de Areia     HQ 17MB   HD480p 33MB   HD720p 79MB
Drama from Brazil about a woman who is taken along with her mother in 1910 to a far-away desert by her husband, and after his passing, is forced to spend the next 59 years of her life hopelessly trying to escape it. This description doesn't sound very remarkable but the movie is beautfully photographed and according to reviews not as dramatic as it sounds.

12 and Holding     19 MB
Low budget, independent childhood drama. When one of four inseparable friends is mistakenly murdered the film explores how grief, love and self-esteem play major roles in the construction of adolescence. Among the better known names of the cast are Annabella Sciorra and Linus Roache. Reviews from the festival circuit are mixed.

It took me about 6 minutes. The first time I watched it (the half hour before), it took me about 20-30 minutes.

WORTH the wait.

Thanks! That's always good to know, especially about those small movies. I have also a weakness for those British movies.

Oh gracious, real trailer for POTC2. How excited am I?
And it's only going to take me about 10 minutes, so that's cool. I was scared it was going to take something like an hour, because that's definitely happened before, and it sucks.

Glad to hear that download speed has improved on your side of the globe because over here it's still very slow. But either way it's well worth the wait. :)

Pirates of the Thwarted Broadband Connection...2.

*Jabs dementedly at the Cancel button.*

Yes, very heavy demand there! I mean, I'm actually at home today, but it seems everyone and his pet gerbil is trying to download the thing! LOL!

*Goes to the RapidShare option.*

Cheers, mate! ;o)

It's hard to believe that the almighty Disney company isn't able to provide a smooth worldwide download. But rapidshare works rather well. Hope your progress continued!

44%...

I was wondering about that - am I being too cynical to think that "Entertainment" column headlines in newspapers claiming "stalled servers" and "excessive Internet demand" won't exactly do the film any harm in the week that the publicity machine really gets into gear? ;o)

46%...

By the way, I don't know why (perhaps I once insulted its mother, or something...), but Rapidshare and I really don't get along. Ever! It must be a quirk in the system somewhere, but every time I've tried to download something via it, it just throws out that "F*ck off, your tokens are worthless to me," message, or something similar. ;o)

That's too bad, especially in this case (as you already found out). I remember that some time ago rapidshare lowered the download speed once you reached 20 MB, but this morning it was full speed ahead, the whole file. I suppose they changed it since they switched to the 'enter three characters' version.

No real idea why you can't access rapidshare. How far do you get? The count-down ends, you enter the three characters and then nothing happens? Maybe a pop-up blocker since the download automatically starts.

Hopefully, the direct download has finished by now.

Yep, I tap in the three characters (case-sensitive - I always make sure of that!) and that's when it hits me with the line about invalidity. *Sigh.*

And no, the download stalled at around eighty something per cent, so I've seen none of it yet.

No matter - when the traffic's died down a bit, I might give it another go. (And someone's said they'll try the Rapidshare option from their end, and burn the file to disc if necessary.)

Cheers, though, mate - you know how much we all appreciate your efforts on our behalf! :o)

"Oh bugger!"

Hope you have more luck later. At the moment it seems as if traffic is getting even worse. The CD burning might not be the worst idea.

Especially in this case it's worth all the effort because it's really fun to watch. :)

With the direct download link? Wow, that's interesting, because over here it is still getting slower and we have now reached last decade's modem speed.
Thanks for letting me know. :)

Glad I can be of service. I have a feeling that Disney wasn't planning to produce such a bottleneck with their mySpace promo.
