11:27 am - Dunkirk, Despicable Me 3, The Sense of an Ending, A Kind of Murder, Unforgettable
Dunkirk     HD720p 105MB   HD1080p 175MB
First full trailer for the latest movie written and directed by Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar, Inception). It is a war movie set during the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940 during World War II, when allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, Canada and France were surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle. Cast members include Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, James D'Arcy and Barry Keoghan.
War movies aren't exactly my favourite. But I very much appreciate it that Nolan makes another epic, stand-alone movie. In 2D.

Despicable Me 3     HD720p 38MB   HD1080p 77MB
First trailer for the third adventure of Gru (Steve Carell), Lucy (Kristen Wiig), their adorable daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes, and the Minions. The voices of Russell Brand and Steve Coogan will also return. The villain this time is Balthazar Bratt (voiced by Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker), a former child star who's grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the '80s, and proves to be Gru's most formidable nemesis to date.
Cue, heist music!

The Sense of an Ending     HD720p 18MB
Drama in which Tony Webster (Jim Broadbent) leads a reclusive and quiet existence until long-buried secrets from his past force him to face the flawed recollections of his younger self, the truth about his first love (Charlotte Rampling) and the devastating consequences of decisions made a lifetime ago. Harriet Walter, Michelle Dockery, Emily Mortimer, Matthew Goode and Freya Mavor are also part of the cast. Directed by Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox).

A Kind of Murder     HD720p 20MB
Noir drama set in 1960s New York, Walter Stackhouse (Patrick Wilson) is a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara (Jessica Biel) who leads a seemingly perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a suspected killer (Eddie Marsan) and an overambitious detective (Vincent Kartheiser), while at the same time lusting after another woman (Haley Bennett).
Based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith. Though I think movie's best approached by not setting expectations too high.

Unforgettable     HD720p 116MB
Thriller drama in which Tessa Connover (Katherine Heigl), who is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex-husband (Geoff Stults) becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Rosario Dawson) - not only bringing her into the home they once shared but also into the life of their daughter. Trying to settle into her new role as a wife and a stepmother, Julia believes she has finally met the man of her dreams, the man who can help her put her own troubled past behind her. But Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia's dream into her ultimate nightmare.
Describing it as a Lifetime movie probably is an insult towards Lifetime movies.

We got the Dunkirk trailer tonight for the Rogue One showing we went to. Followed by... Boss Baby. :-/ It was a really odd odd juxtaposition to follow a war pic with... an animated movie about babies. :-/

Oh dear! That must've been a traumatic experience. I still can't believe that Dreamworks is responsible for "Boss Baby".

I had to skip your latest entry because I wanted to keep the option open to see the movie in the coming weeks. :)

While glancing at reviews I got the impression that fight scenes make up a good part of the movie (it frequently got described as a war movie) which I admit I don't care at all about. So at this point I hesitate. It also depends on if I will get the option to see it non-dubbed (which at the moment is maybe 50:50).

I'd say there was definitely more to it than just fighting. If you can find it non-dubbed, I'd give it a shot. :-)

By the way, did you hear about one of the big reveals in Passengers? I'm suddenly turned off by watching it.

I hesitate to click on the link, but I assume it refers to how/why Lawrence wakes up? That's obviously a stupid plot point, especially since it could've easily been avoided by creating some other event.

Yes, that (it's really weird when people talk about a Lawrence that isn't me to me), plus the fact that they don't explore the ramifications of it.

If I married her, I'd take her name, just to mess with people.
